We are a play based program that respects each child as a unique individual. We draw inspiration from the Waldorf method,R.I.E parenting philosophy and the Reggio approach. We encourage our children to be independent, critical , creative thinkers.Through nature immersion, stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, the children form a deep connection with the environment and natural world around them.
We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships with each other and nature.

What Should My Child Wear?

The weather in San Francisco can change quickly. Please dress your child in layers and if it is a rainy day please bring/dress your child in rain pants, jacket and boots.

What Items Should My child Pack Daily?

A lunch and hearty snack, we will provide fruit and a simple carb such as crackers. A water bottle labeled with their name. 1 extra set of clothes.

What Is The Plan If It Rains Or We Have Poor Air Quality?

We will play and explore in the mud! Please dress your child in rain gear and be assured we will have a great time looking for worms, making rain art, and puddle jumping!

In the rare occasion that Stern Grove is closed we will not hold school that day.

If AQI reaches above 100 per Air Now we will cancel school until it goes below 100.
